Birmingham Cruise Event 8/21/10
On Saturday, August 21, 2010, downtown Birmingham will host the Birmingham Cruise Event to celebrate the region's automotive heritage.  Activities include a variety of automotive exhibits, sponsor displays, and a variety of vendors - all complementing the classic car show, which features hundreds of classic cars on display on Old Woodward between Brown St. and Lincoln Ave.  The Birmingham Cruise Event area features prime viewing spots for car enthusiasts to catch all the action on Woodward while enjoying a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

Woodward Dream Cruise 8/21/10
Dig out your letter sweater and poodle skirt, throw on your blue suede shoes, slick back your hair and get ready to enjoy a day filled with classic cars and great entertainment. This is the world’s largest one-day celebration of car culture and attracts more than 1 million visitors and more than 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles. From 9am to 9pm through nine communities of Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Hunting Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac and Royal Oak. Corn Roast & Country Fair 8/14/10 - 9:00am - 4:00pm
Come out for a traditional family day of fun at the Royal Oak Corn Roast & Country Fair located at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.  Stroll down the row of 20+ artisan tents while sipping on cool, hand squeezed lemonade or eating fresh roasted corn.  Enjoy fresh organic goodies by 2 Unique catering, all while listening to local bands.  The kids will enjoy games, a meet and greet with Clifford the Dog, jump in the moonwalk or enter the corn or pie eating contests.  Mom & dad can compete in the best chocolate chip cookie contest, try to “Dunk-A-Cop” (proceeds benefit the Royal Oak Police Honor Guard), or stop in the beer tent (proceeds to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs).
